  The Richmond Firefighters Society is a volunteer society dedicated to raising and donating funds for charity. Some of their main benefactors are the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, Richmond Therapeutic Equestrian Club, Make a Wish Foundation and B.C.P.F.F.A Burn Fund.   The Kinsmen Home Support Society is a registered nonprofit charitable society that provides community services to Richmond. The Society operates the Kinsmen Adult Centre and the Kinsmen Alert Line (a 24 hour emergency response system).   Richmond Nature Park is at the heart of Richmond - an environment preserved as a reminder of the unique and fragile wetlands that once covered Lulu Island. Today, Richmond Nature Park is a link to the past and a promise for the future. The park is open throughout the year to all who would like to get closer to nature. Programs, offered throughout the year, provide opportunities to learn more about natural history and are available to all ages and interests. Educational programs for visiting school groups instill a value for the environment in the children who are the future stewards of the earth. The Richmond Nature Park is operated by the City of Richmond with the support of the Richmond Nature Park Society.
